A 44-year-old man died yesterday after a fire broke out in his apartment in Albatrera. The man, who had lived in the same apartment all his life, had just returned from the shops when the fire started. All the other residents of the block were evacuated as firemen attacked the blaze that took about ninety minutes to extinguish. The body was removed later in the afternoon, and the residents were allowed to return after 4 pm. The causes of the fire are still being investigated.
