A Long Time

The summer season and the influx of a large number of cars seemed to be the main problem over an incident that took place on a beach in Torrevieja, when a 59-year-old Spanish man got into difficulties whilst swimming. This led to the SAMU emergency services being called, but they had to double-park their ambulance whilst the paramedics went to try and help the man, and this in turn lead to the Guardia Civil being called in to control the traffic flow whilst the ambulance remained where it was. Sadly, the paramedics could do nothing for the man and he was declared dead, but it took a judge more than four hours to arrive at the beach due to the traffic and as a result the body remained where it was, in the full sight of all the other bathers until the legal necessities had been undertaken.
