I have recently moved to Valencia and need to learn lots of Spanish fast! If anyone is interested in swapping English for Spanish lessons, and doesn't mind me bringing my one-year-old son (or if you have a child of your own to bring...) drop me a line.
Thanks!

Hi everybody from the English-speaking community in Valencia!
Well, briefly - thanks for the opportunity to communicate with English-speaking people in Valencia! It's a great relief to be able to speak a foreign language and still to understand what the others say for my Spanish is still very poor! I've studied in the UK, speak a quite decent English and I'd be glad to make friends among the Brits residing in Valencia.
Hi everybody! I've been here for a month already. Nice to have found this forum is open to everybody who's English-speaking and tries to settle down in Valencia. I'm 36, presently earning my living as a domestic assistant to a Spanish lady with osteoporosys. I like my job, being helpful and responsive-I guess-is part of my nature. I would like to make friends among the English-speaking community in Valencia for some outings or chats (my Spanish is still very poor, unfortunately..:-)). Would be glad to be helpful as well with my knowledge and skills to anybody in need. Well, hope to hear...

How was it for you ?
Relocating to Valencia Region next Autumn 2007 and want to communicate with families who have recently done the same or similar
Have visited twice now and we are coming again with the family in August 2006 - staying at Oliva Nova Golf. Like the look of Ontinyent and like the sound of Lliria but not visited there yet. Can you recommend anywhere else ? Have two lads aged 17 and 13 who love tennis, football, golf, swimming. Need to be close enough to sports facilities and schools but dont mind the peace and quiet of the countryside on the outskirts of town - it would be great if the lads had a penpal who they could communicate with - can you help ??

Gordon Ramsay is coming to Spain
Dear Owner / Manager,
We’re making an exciting new series of Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares, the BAFTA winning Channel 4 hit show that saw restaurants around the UK benefit from Gordon Ramsay’s culinary and business expertise.
Now Gordon is going international and we’re looking for a British owned/managed establishment in Spain. We are really keen to feature a wide range of establishments and cuisines and want to explore the challenges of running a successful restaurant despite the glorious sunshine and idyllic views.
Do you want to stand out from the crowd?
Does your business need help making it to the next level?
Are you finding the reality of owning a business in Spain less than a dream?
In the series Gordon helps rescue restaurants, cafes, pubs and hotels that are struggling to fulfil their potential. Over a week Gordon acts as your own personal guru, pinpointing what works and eliminating what doesn’t. With his Michelin star expertise and business know-how he’s on hand to give advice on how to improve the business. From staffing issues to balancing the books, dwindling trade to menu dilemmas, Gordon will be there to help solve the problems and make your business work to its full potential.
We’d love to hear from you, whether you need help motivating your team, you’re barely breaking even or you just need a helping hand with cultural differences you may have encountered. If you know of any establishments that need Gordon’s help we would also like to hear from you. If you’re passionate about the restaurant trade, and want Gordon’s advice then email kitchen.nightmares@optomen.com with details of your business, or call 00 44 20 7967 1234 for more information.
If you would like further information on the series and Gordon, please visit http://www.channel4.com/4money/realdeal/ramsay/index.html .
We apologise if you do not feel that you would like Gordon Ramsay’s advice for your business but we’re casting the net as wide as possible and so we have emailed to you.
Yours sincerely,
David Allberry
