Bars, Pubs & Cafes in Valencia

Bars, Pubs & Cafes in Valencia

Below is a list of bars, pubs and cafes in the city of Valencia, including personally recommended bars in the main nightspot, including contact details and detailed information, as well as over zones worth a visit.

Please check back regularly as we are forever adding new places!

Barrio del Carmen

FOX CONGO: C/Caballeros, 35 Tel: 96 392 55 27

This is definitely one of the best bars in Carmen, offering a great exotic and tropical atmosphere, with funky music and amazing surroundings. The tropical theme really makes you feel like you are in the heart of a tropical rainforest with all the comforts of luxurious leather loungers, spectacular lighting effects and even a bar made out of Onyx! This is obviously quite an up-market bar but it still attracts a great variety of people of all ages.

Drinks prices are quite reasonable for an up-market bar with a bottle of beer at €4 euros and a vodka mixer at €7.

Definitely one bar not to be missed!

JOHNNY MARACAS: C/Caballeros 39, Tel: 96 391 52 66

Located basically next door to Fox Congo, Johnny Maracas is another bar with a great vibe. Again a classy establishment, Johnny Maracas has a very latino feel, with decor and latino and flamenco beats allowing you to immerse yourself right into the Spanish scene. If its Spanish and latino tunes you are looking for with a great upbeat crowd, this is the place to visit.

Drinks prices are very similar to Fox Congo.

CAFE DEL NEGRITO: Plaza del Negrito, Tel: 96 391 42 33

Plaza del Negrito can be found just off C/Cabelleros in a cosy square with 4 or 5 bars catering for all tastes of clientele.

One of the best places to drink here is Cafe del Negrito. There is a large outside seating area where one can sit outside sipping on Sangria and taking in the atmosphere of this cosmopolitan square, or you can pop inside the bar and enjoy the variety of music that is on offer. There are always great drinks prices on offer here, with a bottle of beer at €2 and a vodka and a mixer at €3.50, so if it's affordable drinks combined with the atmosphere of a typical Valencian plaza you are looking for, this is the place.

CAFE BOLSERIA: C/Bolseria, 41 Tel: 96 391 89 03

Located ideally right in the heart of Carmen nightlife, Cafe Bolseria really is a bar you can help but notice with its luminous purple lights illuminating the bar and most of the Plaza de Tossal.

Plaza de Tossal is a renound meeting place for those heading out for the night and offers many bars and cafes suited for all tastes.

Cafe Bolseria has a very up-market feel to it and is decored with style and sophistication so make sure you dress to impress as this really is a place for the beautiful people of Valencia. Drink prices reflect the class of the place with a bottle of beer at €4 and €8 for a vodka mixer.

This is another place not to miss if only for the sheer class and prestige of the place.

RADIO CITY: C/Santa Teresa, 19 Tel: 96 391 41 51

Radio City could well be one of the most cosmopolitan and ever-changing bars in Valencia. They are one of the few bars that has branched out and managed to organise many different nights throughout the week and the weekend. Here you are likely to meet all sorts of people, ranging from the elegantly dressed and reserved, to the wild party goers really up for their night ahead.

So if you are interested in meeting new people and sampling a variety of different activities including Salsa, Jazz and funky tunes, Radio City is the place to be.

Canovas

Although Barrio del Carmen is the most famous and popular nightspot in Valencia, it is worth visiting the Canovas area to check out the bars it has on offer there. The Canovas area is the south-side of Marques Gran Via del Turia opposite Plaza de Canovas close to the Gardens of Alameda and is packed full of mainly small bars all offering a wide range of music, and, most importantly, very cheap drinks! The average price around this area is an astonishing €1.50 for a bottle of beer, only €3 for a spirit and a mixer, and €5 for a jug of Sangria, although I am sure that if you look around you ma find even lower prices!

If this doesn't sound your sort of thing, Canovas also offers numerous more up-market bars and bar clubs with a great atmosphere, good size dance floors and reasonably prices drinks, all open until the early hours of the morning.

So if you are looking to sample how the locals party the night away, Canovas is the place.
