Utiel Gastronomica Food & Wine Fair

Utiel once again hosts it's Gastronomic Food and Wine Fair from 26-28 October 2007. Tortas de magras (bacon tarts), olive oil, ajoarriero (a cod dish with oil, garlic and peppers), sausages, ham, gazpacho, morteruelo (a type of mince pie), D.O. Utiel-Requena wines, honey, alajú, burruecos... lots to savour in Gastronomic Utiel. The exhibition site, as with previous years, situated in the Paseo de la Alameda, enjoys a wide open space in which the visitor will be offered the possibility of enjoying the rich gastronomy of the district, which benefits from high quality artisanal products such as oils, sausages or sweets. There will be mass tastings of traditional dishes such as gazpacho, ajoarriero or sweet migas, produced by the housewives' associations. |
Running parallel to this there will be guided tourist visits organised to tour the old quarter of the city and surrounding areas, or the already traditional Ruta del Tapeo (Tapa-Tasting Route), which brings together eleven establishments that offer the public the possibility of trying their culinary specialities.
