Evita Musical
It has been revealed that the Costa Blanca theatre group Footlights have managed to secure the rights to stage the hit musical Evita, after director Trevor Harder managed to persuade Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice that the company was capable of staging such a complicated piece.
Originally starring Elaine Page in the theatre version, and Madonna in the 1996 film directed by Alan Parker, Amanda Dean will play the lead role in the Footlights production, supported by Andy Headford as Juan Peron, Patrick Quinn as Che, and Tony Sim as Augustin Magaldi. Also expected to attend one of the shows is a high-ranking executive from the Lloyd Webber Company The Really Useful Group.
Evita, which will also feature a 20-strong choir, will premiere on November 20 at the Casa de Cultura in Alfas del Pi, where the show will remain for one further performance, and travel to the Casa de Cultura in Calpe for two further performances one week later.
Tickets are available by calling (+34)965 83 96 54.
