Duathlon in Santa Pola
The 12th Pepe Bonet Memorial Mountain Cross Duathlon will be held on 24th September and it will be the venue of the 9th Autonomous Mountain Duathlon Championships of the Region of Valencia. Both the starting point and the finishing point will be the Avda. Santiago Bernabeu (VATASA) of Santa Pola, next to the Varadero beach.
The start will take place at 10am and the first 5000 metres of the trial will be done on foot along the urban circuit this will then give way to a distance of 19,000 metres on mountain bike and then finally a further 3000 metres on foot. To be proclaimed champion of this trial one has to complete a total of 27 kilometres, 19 on bike and 8 on foot divided into two parts.
The competition can be entered on an individual basis or in teams, there being cash prizes for the first three to classify, both in the male category and the female.
