New Skyscraper for Calpe
Calpe Town Council yesterday gave the green light to a project presented by construction company Calport Marbella to go ahead and build a 20-storey skyscraper near the Ifach Rock, symbol of the Costa Blanca.
The precise location of the building is at the junction between Avenida Europa and Calle Luxemburg and it is to be set on a 670 square metre portion of land.
The approval of the project has caused an outcry amongst the opposition groups on the Town Council, with Antonio Romera of the PSI stating: “This mayor does not know how to defend the interests of our town”, whilst other opposition spokesmen stated that Calpe was ‘getting more and more like Marbella every day’.
